Austin Job Postings Report May 2021

There were about 84,000 available job postings during the May 2021 monthly reporting period, a significant increase of 4,500 postings compared to the previous month. While the current unemployment rate in the metro area is at 4.5% or 57,400 for April of 2021, the number of available job postings has significantly surpassed the number of unemployed since April 2021. Of the 84,000 postings, 40 percent or 33,700 were first-time postings by employers in the month of May.
